In the 'Pieken in de Delta' economic development programme, the Ministry of Economic Affairs listed Maintenance as a key objective, which led to the World Class Maintenance programme. This programme is supported by the provinces of North Brabant and Zeeland and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
